{"id":349,"date":"2021-10-02T08:38:56","date_gmt":"2021-10-02T08:38:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/global-health-services.local\/?post_type=committees&#038;p=349"},"modified":"2021-11-23T22:34:33","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T22:34:33","slug":"chikwe-ihekweazu-dtmcm-mbbs","status":"publish","type":"committees","link":"https:\/\/cphia2021.com\/fr\/committees\/chikwe-ihekweazu-dtmcm-mbbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Chikwe Ihekweazu, DTM&amp;CM, MBBS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu is an Assistant Director General at the World Health Organization (WHO), leading the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to this, Dr Ihekweazu was the first Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and led the agency between July 2016 and October 2021. He also served as Interim Director of the West Africa Regional Centre for Surveillance and Disease Control from January to December 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Ihekweazu trained as an infectious disease epidemiologist and has over 25 years\u2019 experience working in senior public health and leadership positions in several National Public Health Institutes, including NCDC, the South African National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), the UK&#8217;s Health Protection Agency, and Germany\u2019s Robert Koch Institute (RKI).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Centre de l&#039;OMS pour le renseignement sur les pand\u00e9mies et les \u00e9pid\u00e9mies, Allemagne<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":975,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[],"class_list":["post-349","committees","type-committees","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
