Dr. Glenda Gray is a globally distinguished scientist known for her research in HIV vaccines and interventions to prevent mother to child transmission of HIV. She is the Co-Principal Investigator of the National Institutes of Health-funded HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) and directs the programme in Africa. She is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC). A trained paediatrician, Dr. Gray has earned accolades for her prominent leadership in HIV vaccination in Africa and globally. She was named one of Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women by Forbes and the world’s 100 Most Influential people by TIME Magazine.
