Dr. Yenew Kebede Tebeje is an acclaimed medical microbiologist and public health expert and recipient of various awards including the Mission Honor Award, Meritorious Honor Award and US CDC Centre for Global Health Director’s Award. Within his 20 years of experience he has worked on clinical and laboratory science, capacity building, and programme design and implementation. As Head of the Division of Laboratory Systems and Networks at the Africa CDC, he coordinates regional integrated surveillance and laboratory networks, creation of frameworks for cross-border specimen transportation, geo-mapping of laboratory functions, among other responsibilities.
