Dr. Githinji Gitahi

Dr. Githinji Gitahi is one of Africa’s public health champions leading Africa’s largest independent health development organization, Amref Health Africa, which has more than 1,000 employees implementing over 147 projects across 30 African countries. Prior to his appointment to Amref Health Africa, Dr. Gitahi was the Vice President and Regional Director for Africa at Smile Train International. Previously Dr. Gitahi held various senior regional and global positions including Monitor Publications in Uganda and GlaxoSmithKline. Dr. Gitahi serves as the Steering Committee Co-Chair of UHC2030—a World Bank and WHO global initiative for universal health coverage.
