MAScIR, WHO Diagnostic & Technical Advisory Group

Hassan SEFRIOUI is Director, Senior Management Advisor & Member of MAScIR Executive Board. He is Member of the Diagnostic & Technical Advisory Group (DTAG) at the World Health Organisation and Member of the Judging Panel of UK “Longitude Prize”.

Hassan has over 20 years R&D experience in both industrial and academic settings. He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and a postdoctoral position at the University of California San Diego (USA). Thereafter, he worked for 10 years as director within the European Biotech Industry Sector including TIGENIX, a subsidiary of the multinational TAKEDA.

In 2010, Hassan joined MAScIR as Director at the Medical Biotechnology Center. Based on the 10 years expertise’s in the field of diagnostics, the team, under his responsibilities, developed Morocco first diagnostic kits targeting several diseases including breast cancer, leukemia, tuberculosis, hepatitis C and recently COVID-19 infection. These kits are manufactured by “MOLDIAG”; a startup emerged from MAScIR’s Medical Biotechnology Center.
