Dr. Justin Maeda

Dr. Justin Maeda is the interim Head of the Division for Surveillance and Disease Intelligence at the Africa CDC where he oversees the ongoing efforts of African Union Member States in early detection and response to public health events. Dr. Maeda has over 10 years of experience in public health ranging from research and administration to programme management and implementation. He is the recipient of the US CDC’s 2014 Director’s Award on Global Health Partnership, in recognition of his work fighting the ebola outbreak in West Africa.
