Dr Nathalie Mayet

Presentation: Investments in Public Health Workforce and Leadership Programs with Emphasis on Governance and Policy

Dr Mayet is a medical doctor with qualifications in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene; Public Health; Health Services Management; Occupational Health and a Masters in Philosophy in Strategy from the Gordon Institute of Business Science. As the Deputy Director of the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, Dr Mayet is currently serving on the South African National Incident Management for COVID-19 and African Task Force for Coronavirus (AFTCOR). She participated in setting up the Crises Management Centre for all hazards as part of the International Crises Management Team in the automotive industry for managing the Pandemic Preparedness and Response in 2005 and set up the Emergency Operation Centre at the NICD during the 2014 Ebola outbreak. She chaired the Africa CDC Expert Committee on National Public Health Institute development and supports the National Department of Health with the development of a National Public Health Institute for South Africa.
