Professor Helen Rees OBE, is the Executive Director of Wits RHI, the largest research Institute at the University of Witwatersrand, and Co-Director of the Wits African Leadership in Vaccinology Expertise Flagship programme. Helen is renowned for her research and policy work in vaccines, HIV and drug regulation both globally and in the African continent. She has extensive involvement in national, regional and global response efforts to COVID-19 including the development of COVID-19 vaccines, their potential rollout and utilization.
