Dr. Iruka Okeke is a bacterial geneticist who researches the molecular epidemiology, pathogenesis and drug resistance of enteric bacteria. She is a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, mentor to almost 100 successful scientific researchers, and author of over 120 published papers. Along with her Professorship at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, she engages in research pertaining to microbiology laboratory practice in Africa.
