Dr. Kevin Marsh is a Professor of Tropical Medicine at the University of Oxford and senior advisor at the African Academy of Sciences with a background in research on the immunology of malaria. His series of malaria focused research projects with colleagues on the Kenyan Coast expanded into the international KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme, geared toward all health concerns in East Africa, which he was director of until 2014. He was granted the Prince Mahidol prize for medicine in 2010 and the Al Sumait prize for development in Africa in 2016 and now supports the advancement of science and capacity building in Africa as Director of the Africa Oxford Initiative.
